From June 21 to 22, the 2025 AGI Playground hosted by FounderPark was held at the 798·751 Art Zone in Beijing. Sam, Founder of QuVideo & FireflyFusion, was invited to attend the event and delivered a speech titled From Tool to Platform: How to Find PMF for Pan-Commercial Content Overseas Expansion with AI, reviewing the 0-to-1 exploration journey of the Short Drama Production Solutions under FireflyFusion, QuVideo’s ToB business segment.

In mid-2023, a large number of overseas short drama apps surged to the top ranks of non-game application lists. As a player in the pan-entertainment track, QuVideo, which was still mainly engaged in AI creative software at that time, actively explored ways to empower overseas short drama content platforms with the technical capabilities accumulated through years of its ToC business operations.
The FireflyFusion team hypothesized numerous industry demands, such as novel-to-animation adaptation, AI dubbing for short dramas, and AI face-swapping for short drama characters. However, after investing substantial efforts in communicating and validating with overseas short drama platforms, they found that over 70% of leading overseas short drama platforms identified translation as their primary pain point. Against the current backdrop of the overseas short drama market, dubbed dramas account for a large proportion of the content catalog, while the supply of local original dramas remains sluggish due to extremely high production costs.
After pinpointing the demand for short drama translation, the FireflyFusion team learned that most overseas short drama platforms previously relied on manual translation, which was time-consuming and costly. Meanwhile, general-purpose AI translation models failed to address the unique challenges of the short drama scenario, such as the short, dense lines of characters and the abundance of colloquialisms and slang in Chinese contexts. In response, the technical department quickly allocated resources to independently develop a vertical AI translation model tailored for short dramas, and built a specialized terminology database for the genre. This solution resolved the issues of timeline alignment, accuracy, expressiveness, and consistency in batch dubbing of short dramas, outperforming leading industry translation models while helping clients cut manpower costs by over 90%.
In the first half of 2025, leveraging its robust delivery capabilities, FireflyFusion successfully enabled leading platforms to launch dubbed short dramas overseas within 24 hours, helping them seize the first-mover advantage in global markets. Sam stated that data shows global in-app purchase revenue of short drama applications in Q1 2025 exceeded the full-year figure of 2024, indicating that the market is still experiencing rapid growth. This trend will bring greater development opportunities for FireflyFusion’s Short Drama Production Solutions.
At present, FireflyFusion has three core business segments: Short Drama Production Solutions, Intelligent Video Creation Solutions, and E-Commerce Marketing Video Production Solutions, dedicated to helping more Chinese overseas-oriented enterprises expand their markets efficiently.

During the conference, FounderPark also released the 2025 Top 50 Most Valuable AGI Innovation Institutions in China list. As a pioneering serial entrepreneur in the AGI era, QuVideo was successfully selected for the list, standing out as one of the few platforms on the list focusing on AI technology services for overseas expansion. During the event held at Beijing’s 798 Art Zone, FireflyFusion also set up a booth to communicate with numerous entrepreneurs on-site and discuss the future of AI technology applications.
