Environmental and Cultural PreservationSeptember 30, 2019

On September 18, 2019, QuVideo launched the "Trendy Tujia Enshi Dance" challenge online to help preserve the intangible cultural heritage of the Tujia Baishou Dance. As part of QuVideo's 2019 Charity Month initiatives, the challenge aimed to modernize the promotion of this cultural treasure through short videos, while also supporting the local tourism economy and cultural development in Enshi.

The Tujia people account for a significant portion of the population in Enshi, Hubei. Known for their musicality and dance, the Tujia created Baishou Dance to depict everyday life and work, including dances for daily routines and agricultural activities. Over centuries, this dance has become an invaluable spiritual and cultural heritage of the Tujia community.

For this campaign, QuVideo leveraged its technological and creative strengths to design a "Trendy Tujia Enshi Dance" template, incorporating elements of modern dance. Users could follow example moves, record themselves performing the dance via short videos, and upload their entries under the #TrendyTujiaEnshiDance topic to complete the challenge, becoming part of the intangible cultural heritage preservation effort. 微信图片_20251216102502_372_31.png

The template also integrated traditional Tujia costume elements, creating vibrant visual effects while showcasing the richness of Tujia culture. Within just three days of the challenge launch, the campaign attracted over 300,000 online viewers, with participants ranging in age from those born in the 1960s to the 2010s. Some participants even innovatively blended the Baishou Dance with street dance, aerobics, and ballet, injecting new energy into the preservation of this heritage.

By leveraging short video technology for public welfare, QuVideo's "Trendy Tujia Enshi Dance" challenge created fresh opportunities for the promotion and preservation of Enshi's intangible cultural heritage. Moving forward, QuVideo will continue to explore diverse public welfare initiatives, using its products to empower social impact and cultural inheritance.
