Tech for SeniorsAugust 25, 2025

As September 3rd approaches—the 80th Anniversary of the Victory of the Chinese People's War of Resistance Against Japanese Aggression and the World Anti-Fascist War—QuVideo has relaunched its philanthropic program "Class is On! Grandpa & Grandma!" . This latest session, themed "Honoring Classics in the Silver Age, Passing on the Red Spirit Through Digital Innovation", brought together seniors from Huanggushan Community to revisit red classics through the power of QuVideo's AI-driven creative tools. At the start of the class, QuVideo volunteers led participants in recalling stories from the War of Resistance, helping rekindle the emotional depth and historical significance of these red memories.

Auntie Wang, one of the first to speak, shared:"Today's session brought me back to when I was 21. I remembered how I often visited the revolutionary memorial near my university in Chongqing. Each visit left me moved by the unshakable will of the Communist Party members." DSC01142.JPG

77-year-old Uncle Wu, a Party member for 50 years, recounted his experience of joining the army in his youth. "The spirit and faith of those who sacrificed themselves for the founding of the People's Republic of China have always inspired me," he said. DSC01159.JPG

During the event, members of the QuVideo Party Branch served as volunteers, teaching seniors how to use AI features such as "Text-to-Image" and "Image-to-Video" inside the VivaVideo app. With just a short prompt or keywords from red classic stories, AI can recreate the atmosphere of old photographs and transform them into dynamic short videos—turning static historical memories into vivid digital narratives.

On site, Uncle Wu used an old photo from his army days and generated a short dynamic video in moments. In the AI-created video, the young man who once stood still in the photograph raised his hand and gave a military salute.

This event marked the fifth session of QuVideo's "Class is On! Grandpa & Grandma!" philanthropic program. As a treasured part of Chinese cultural heritage, red culture requires innovative ways of preservation. Seniors, both witnesses and participants of history, play an irreplaceable role in passing on these stories to future generations. DSC01108.JPG

By combining red classics with AI-powered digital expression, this initiative empowers seniors to become the storytellers and carriers of history during this important commemorative moment, inspiring younger generations to remember the past more deeply.

Since 2020, the program has brought short-video philanthropic classes to communities across Hangzhou—including Baoting, Cuiyuan, and Yunxin. Each session responds to current social themes and presents a unique topic, allowing QuVideo to meet and support more seniors along the way.

In a rapidly changing era, the project remains committed to bringing warmth through technology and companionship through learning, continuing to provide lasting care and connection for the elderly.
