In Taiwan, China, there is a retired grandpa who is more than just an elder at home. He is affectionately known as the "Video Grandpa."
At the end of 2021, Grandpa Rabbit welcomed a pair of twin granddaughters. From that day on, he picked up his phone and began recording every frame of their growth: the gentle laughter in their cradles, the wobbly steps as they learned to walk… every little moment became the softest memory in his heart.
"Seeing them laugh, so sweet like candy, I often wish these days could last longer," he says.
Though he had never learned video editing, VivaVideo made it easy for him to get started. In his view, a few taps were enough to add subtitles, music, stickers, and effects to his videos—and even use AI voiceovers to tell the warm stories of his family. For him, technology is no longer a barrier, but an extension of love.
Recording videos has become an indispensable part of his life. The moments when his granddaughters draw, sing, swim, or play in the park are carefully captured through his lens. His videos are bright, lively, and full of rhythm—just like his love for his granddaughters: sincere and passionate.
During his time with family, Grandpa Rabbit also experienced brief separations. Changes in family circumstances once meant he could not see the children often, and he could only "reunite" with them through old videos. He admits, "Every time I watch their videos, my heart feels so warm." The laughter and images captured on film became his most precious emotional comfort.
Fortunately, the family later reunited, allowing Grandpa Rabbit to once again record their long-missed smiles. Reflecting on that moment, he says it felt as if the world around him lit up a little brighter.
He shared this joy of reunion on social media, touching many hearts. One viewer commented that Grandpa Rabbit's story made them cherish their own time with family even more.
Grandpa Rabbit understands that his granddaughters will grow up and pursue their own paths, but he hopes they will always remember that, wherever they go, the support and warmth of family are always behind them.
To date, Grandpa Rabbit has created over 500 videos, persistently documenting his granddaughters' growth. He also shares VivaVideo editing tutorials on YouTube, offering insights and tips. "If I can help more people capture their own memories, that would be wonderful," he says with a smile.
