The "Impress Me" column shares inspiring stories of creators from around the world. This edition features Rajan Kashyap, the creator of mAst.

Rajan Kashyap comes from a small village in India. A few years ago, he was an ordinary YouTube creator, sharing video production tips under the account "Technical Rajan." Back then, he never imagined that one day he would influence thousands of people.
At the end of 2020, Rajan received an email from mAst. The platform was just getting started and wanted to invite experienced users to co-create video templates. Curious, Rajan became mAst's first creator.
He began making a variety of content templates and was pleasantly surprised by the experience—simple workflows, creative freedom, and the ability to bring ideas to life quickly. Rajan recalls, "I just love creating and wanted to share my ideas with more people."
With his keen aesthetic sense and creative insight, Rajan quickly became one of the platform's top-performing creators and was entrusted with community management responsibilities.
To help newcomers, he recorded numerous tutorial videos, guiding users step by step on how to create and upload templates, and sharing tips for improving video quality. "Seeing new creators gain recognition from the team fills me with pride. That moment truly inspired me," he said.
Rajan's community includes creators from across India, many from rural areas like him. They often had no editing experience or professional equipment but discovered for the first time that "I can really make videos." Witnessing this transformation deeply moved Rajan.
From being the first creator to becoming the leader of India's mAst community, Rajan has watched the platform grow in India and witnessed countless ordinary people light up with joy when their work is recognized.
Through making templates and managing the community, Rajan gained experience and confidence. Additional income allowed him to invest in new equipment and improve his family's farm operations, fueling his motivation to continue creating.
Rajan enjoys experimenting with new editing styles, exploring different transitions and effects, and using AI to test creative ideas. Whether emotional, expressive, or trendy, his templates bring every style to life. Today, his templates have been used by thousands of creators, amassing over 500 million views. Alongside other creators, he helps expand the template library, keeping the platform aligned with the trends and interests of India's youth.
"mAst is more than just a creative platform, it's a starting point for opportunities. It allows someone like me from a small village to be seen across the country," says Rajan. He looks forward to more people joining and using mAst to showcase their stories and imagination.
