In the digital era, the secure processing of personal information has become a focal point of social attention. The popularization of mobile applications has made the collection, use, storage and transmission of personal information increasingly frequent. The release of this standard aims to regulate personal information processing activities of internet platforms and product services, protect the legitimate rights and interests of personal information subjects, and promote the safe and rational use of data. The formulation of the standard focuses on all links of personal information processing by internet platforms and product services, specifying detailed requirements on the basic criteria, formulation procedures, rule contents, release forms, and dispute resolution of personal information processing. It will further safeguard users’ personal information security and boost the healthy and orderly development of the internet industry.

In the field of personal information protection, China has established a multi-level legal and standard system, including the Personal Information Protection Law, the Regulations on the Protection of Personal Information of Telecommunications and Internet Users, and the industry standard Information Security Technology – Personal Information Security Specification (GB/T 35273—2020). Compared with existing standards, this newly released national standard further focuses on internet scenarios, and promotes the transformation of personal information protection from a "principled framework" to "refined governance" through three core upgrades: enhanced transparency, improved operability of rights, and precise risk scenario control. In addition, targeting the high-risk scenario of cross-border data flow, the new national standard puts forward the "scenario-specific notification" mechanism for the first time, requiring operators to explain to users item by item the purpose of transmission, qualifications of recipients, and security assurance measures when data is transferred overseas, further breaking information asymmetry. These improvements mark the upgrade of China’s personal information protection from a "principled framework" to "refined operation", building a more solid defense for user rights and interests in the digital age.

Since its establishment in 2012, QuVideo has strictly complied with domestic laws and regulations related to user data security and personal information protection. In the first half of 2021, CAICT of the Ministry of Industry and Information Technology launched the "Trusted Big Data Initiative", and QuVideo became one of the first selected enterprises by virtue of its outstanding performance in personal privacy protection and data security. In 2023, the company successively obtained certifications including the "Data Security Management Capability Certification (DSMC)" issued by CAICT and the ISO 27001 Information Security Management System Certification. With its business expanding overseas to more than 200 countries and regions, serving over 2 billion users, QuVideo has earnestly complied with data security and privacy laws and regulations of various countries, and built a compliance system architecture that fits its business scenarios. This experience has also contributed to its participation in compiling the national standard.

With the development and evolution of AI technology, QuVideo, as an industry pioneer, has actively participated in industry development. In April 2024, the group standard Compliance Guidelines for Generative Artificial Intelligence Data Application, led by the China Industrial Information Security Development Research Center, was officially released. QuVideo, as an innovative enterprise in the field of generative AI, participated in the drafting of the standard. Up to now, the company has obtained filing for 6 AIGC-related algorithms, ranking among the forefront in the image and video application track.

Looking ahead, while advancing AI technology R&D and application development, QuVideo will continue to protect the rights and interests of users and partners. Along with the iteration and improvement of industry standards for data security technology, the company will also actively contribute its experience to promote the sustainable development of the digital economy.
