On July 25, the 2025 Overseas Expansion Conference themed "From 'Craftsmanship' to 'Global Reach'" was held in Hangzhou. Guided by the Department of Commerce of Zhejiang Province, the Secretariat of the BRICS Special Economic Zones China Cooperation Center, the Bureau of Commerce of Hangzhou Municipality, and the Bureau of Commerce of Qiantang District, the conference was co-hosted by 36Kr and Qiantang Construction & Investment Group. At the event, the East Forward 2025 Globalization Innovation Series List for Overseas Expansion was officially released, and Sam, Founder & CEO of QuVideo, was named "2025 Globalization Innovation Figure for Overseas Expansion".

The selected "2025 Globalization Innovation Figures for Overseas Expansion" focus more on "opportunity structures", i.e., exploring unmet user needs, information gaps or distribution loopholes in the global market. They emphasize speed, product strength and cross-context iterative capabilities.
The focus of such overseas practices lies not only in scale, but also in the replicability of the model: products are designed for global users from the very beginning, with flat organizational structures and decisions that are closer to the frontline of the market. After successful verification in one country, they quickly expand horizontally, and then expand the scope of services through platforms or content ecosystems, featuring distinct "born-global" characteristics.
From "going global" to "integrating into the global market", Sam has led the team forward on the road of overseas expansion for 13 years, but his keen sense of innovative technology trends and his development mission of empowering more global users to create and spread beauty through technology and innovation have never changed.
In 2012, when the mobile Internet boomed, Sam led the team to develop the first video creation software VivaVideo, which achieved over 100 million global users within less than two years of its launch and was awarded the title of "Top Developer" by Google in 2016; 13 years later, its product VivaCut made it to the a16z’s top-tier AI application list, occupying a leading position in the generative video track.
In 2024, FireflyFusion, QuVideo's ToB business, was officially released to the market. In just one year, its core services have explored and implemented systematic commercial solutions in three major fields: cross-border e-commerce, cultural creativity, and intelligent terminals, successfully empowering leading overseas enterprises in various fields.
It can be said that Sam has led the company to successfully transform from an AI creation software matrix to an AI platform empowering industries. Recently, in an interview, he revealed that based on overseas globalization, the company will expand from the pan-life field to the pan-commercial field, and in the future, it will further explore from AIGC to Agent intelligent agents.
With innovation as the sail and AI as the oar, Sam’s selection as "Globalization Innovation Figure for Overseas Expansion" is a high recognition of him as a serial overseas entrepreneur who has always integrated technology and innovation into products and services. He has deeply cultivated the AI audio-visual field and continuously invested in R&D, from empowering individual creation to helping Chinese enterprises go global—driving content overseas with technology and building a capability base leading to the world.
Standing at the new starting point of honor, Sam and QuVideo’s globalization journey is far from over. He will continue to lead the team to embrace changes and challenges with an open attitude, being a forerunner surging forward in the tide of globalization and standing at the forefront of the times.
